Your basic packing list as we suggest it
You would want to get rid of the last moment packing with panic in the family. Last minute packing never got you anything but stress. So, make a list for your packing in due time. Put the notepad on your kitchen table. Fill it out days before. Besides making sure you have everything for your trip, it will also make sure you have a list for insurance, should the luggage disappear! Take pictures of your suitcase as well, showing all details.
Now, with that list made ready, I am sure you will be well prepared for your trip. Remember to coordinate your clothing, so whatever you bring, all together match in some way or another. This saves you from packing too much in your suitcase. Travel light, as they say. In other way, try and pack complimentary colors and clothing. Some would also recommend going black, but why be so boring, right?! Wash the clothes, let it dry completely. Wet or damp clothing wrinkles more.
Do NOT forget your Personal items and toiletries
Personal items, such as lotion, and the disposable razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste fit in a Travel Kit. These can be bought at our Travel shop in convenient small-, and legal sizes. Suited for both your carry-on and your suitcase. Again, travel light, and avoid bringing lotion, for both head, body, hands and face, etc. The more you can keep out of your luggage, the better. TRAVEL LIGHT! You can find travel kits for both men and women, and also “unisex”.
Forget all about bringing that fancy jewelry, if you are a woman, or the big macho watch, if you are a man. It attracts thieves, and it is not always covered 100% by your travel insurance. Given this day and age, you can get a cheap watch for 10$ at Amazon.com, and ditto for “jewelry”. Leave behind all those jewelry items that you simply do not want to lose. I am sure you would hate to see those disappear in the hands of a thief. The inexpensive jewelry, pack it in hard little pill boxes from the pharmacy.
Another item we found on CheapTripDeal.com/store is the small first aid kit, also found in a light travel kit edition, and don’t forget a Swiss army knife, but do not put it in your carry on. You are not likely to get it onboard. Included in your first aid kit, bring medicine you are dependent upon, and perhaps some painkillers. Always put it in your carry-on luggage. Suitcases are known to disappear sometimes. The carry-on is always by your side.
Unpack as soon as you get to your destination, to get those wrinkles out.
Are you the “packing suitcase” expert?
In our article Travel light, pack light, we have covered how you should pack your suitcase, so we arenot going to repeat it.
Just remember to pack tightly, leave plenty of space for your return trip, and remember, the shoes are perfect for your underwear, as well as your socks.
Do not ever leave your address anywhere in your luggage, only name and phone number (make sure your number is not public in the white pages). Should you need an address, always put in the address of your job.
Keep on to your travel documents, keep them close all the time
Just as we said with your travel kit / medicine, keep your travel documents with you, and in your carry-on. Put all travel documents in a zip-lock bag, in the top of your carry-on. NEVER in your suitcases, as they might disappear. Have a safe and light trip.
